Water quality evaluations are necessary to determine Best Management Practice (BMP) effectiveness and compliance with Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDLs). Variables to help characterize water quality within a watershed include:

  • Water temperature monitoring
  • Suspended sediment measurements
  • Nutrient concentration
  • Road sediment delivery assessment
